It’s finally here – The Hunger Games: Catching Fire trailer.  Liam Hemsworth, who plays Gale Hawthorne, took to the stage at the 2013 MTV Movie Awards to introduce two and half minutes of the first ever seen footage of Catching Fire.

First Catching Fire Teaser Trailer to Premiere April 14

No fooling this time – MTV has just announced that they will be premiering the exclusive first look at the Catching Fire teaser trailer during the MTV Movie Awards, airing April 14,  9:00 pm Eastern / 8:00 Central.

And apparently it’s not just any old trailer, but  two and a half minutes of “not-to-miss” footage from The Hunger Games sequel.

MTV also posted a video where we can catch the first glimpses of the film!

The Hunger Games star, Josh Hutcherson was a popular winner at the MTV Movie Awards, taking out the Best Male Performance Award.

E! Online caught up with Josh on the Red Carpet on hisway in, to ask him who he was looking forward to catching up with, who his idols are and getting ready for Catching Fire.

In another interview with E! Josh talked about meeting with director Francis Lawrence

“I sat down with him a couple of days ago,” Hutcherson told me at the MTV Movie Awards. “He’s fantastic. He’s such a smart guy. He has some great ideas for the movie.

The Hunger Games DVD/Bluray Release Date

It’s the news that Hunger Games fans have been waiting for. The Hunger Games movie will be released on Bluray and DVD in the U.S at one minute past midnight as the clock ticks over to August 18th. A digital download will also be available on the same day.

For those of you counting, that’s 12 weeks from now. If you can’t wait you can pre-order your DVD/Bluray copy from Friday.

Entertainment Weekly has the scoop with the official DVD trailer. They also report:

“The motion picture event of the year is poised to become the home entertainment event of the year,” Lionsgate’s VP of Home Entertainment Ron Schwartz told EW. “With a midnight launch and midnight retail events scheduled at stores around the country, we expect to replicate the same level of consumer excitement generated by the film’s theatrical debut.”

EW has revealed that The Hunger Games release will be a two-disc set and will include three hours of bonus material.

Apparently we’ll get to see an eight-part documentary about the making of the movie, interviews with the cast and crew. There will also be a feature on changes that were made from the book and The Capitol propaganda film that was shown at the Reaping in District 12 will also be in there.

The fan favorite to play Finnick Odair in Catching Fire was once resoundingly Alex Pettyfer, but it seems times have changed and so have the legions of Hunger Games fans. Now the huge buzz is building for Glee actor Grant Gustin to take on the role in The Hunger Games sequel.
