Yesterday, Capitol Couture revealed a portrait of Effie, the first in a series of portraits for the cast of characters in Catching Fire. Fandango had the pleasure of sharing the next portrait – Caesar Flickerman.
Per the countdown at Capitol Couture, the next portrait will be posted today at 1pm ET.
As always, let us know what you think about the portraits.
“It’s a big, big, big day. The #EffieTrinketCapitolPortrait has arrived! Chins up. Smiles on. #LadiesFirst”
At the Capitol Couture website, there is detailed information about Effie’s outfit and a countdown until the next portrait is revealed (another empty chair!) – it will be unveiled at 6pm ET today! Who do you think will be next??
What do you all think of this new take on revealing the Catching Fire characters?!!
We sent one of our best photographers into the fray at one of the Capitol’s hottest Opening Ceremonies soirees to capture all the excess and excitement!
Flask in hand, D12’s Haymitch tries to drum up sponsors as he heads back to the bar. Does he look like he’s teetering to you? At least he managed to match his tie and pocket square.
Catered by the Capitol’s best — appetizers included strawberry squid foam, gelatin pancakes with crystallized foie gras beads, and mockingjay egg caviar on a nest of shredded truffles.
Taking in the action at the bar — a fluorescent Pimm’s Punch blended from D11’s freshest fruit of the season proved to be the drink of the night.
Roast suckling pig made the guests squeal with delight. However, in their case it was display only, as our spies inform us this very pig was later served to the Gamemakers during the Tribute Training sessions.
The third issue of Capitol Couture was released yesterday and includes a profile piece on President Snow.
President of Panem. Figurehead of the Capitol. Icon of style? You bet your Brioni britches!
With his ever-present white clergy shirt and dark sanguine button-up vest, President Coriolanus Snow is making a strong case for the ancient adage “less is more” — a concept about as foreign to Capitol fashionistas as D4’s bread. Speaking of D4, the leader of Panem’s Execu-chic branch always completes his classy ensemble with an impeccably tailored equally sanguine sharkskin jacket. It’s one-of-a-kind and was given to him by D4’s mayor Hunter Phillips on his very first Presidential Tour of Panem over 25 years ago. I’m sure we’d all agree: If you absolutely have to visit the Districts, a gorgeous sui generis sharkskin sport coat will serve just fine as a goodie bag.
It also includes this great GIF of Haymitch with the question “Ready for the Opening Ceremonies, Haymitch?”
By now, avid Hunger Games fans are well aware that Katniss Everdeen is District 12’s first volunteer Tribute in decades – but she won’t be the only volunteer on Team 12 at the 74th Hunger Games! Meet Cinna, the hotly-tipped young stylist who — get this — actually requested to work with the D12 Tributes. We have to say, this brave if not odd entreaty has been paying off — everyone from Mayor Luna to Seneca Crane has been clamoring to see what Cinna’s got in store for 12!Continue reading →
